Via ferrata is a climbing path carved on a steep slope, equipped with steel cables, rungs and ladders, with special equipment for the most exposed parts. It has a rather extreme character but needs no previous experience, only average fitness and no fear of heights.
The route is on the Aoos river next to Konitsa and starts at the old bridge of Konitsa. After an easy 45-minute walk you cross two bridges: a small one of 6 to 7 m at Gravos and the 17 m long Tibetan bridge of the Aoos, 35 m high. Impressive climbs on steel ladders and a vertical rock 60 to 70 m above the water follow, then scenic hiking sections back to the historic bridge of Konitsa.
