For those who want to reach the highest point: a 4-hour hike in Meteora with climbing anchors, where Active Nature instructors secure you with a rope they set up themselves. Via cordata is very similar to via ferrata.
You climb the rock with equipment along an ancient path carved on its edge, with amazing views over Meteora and Kalambaka. The path was used in the Middle Ages by the monks of the now deserted Twelve Apostles monastery, and the rock was a fortress thousands of years ago. The route combines easy climbing at first with a long traverse on a narrow ledge carved by the monks centuries ago.
