Valia Calda and Arkoudorema – On the Trail of Wild Pindus, 16-18 October

A three-day escape with eSKapex to Valia Calda, in the heart of the Pindus mountains – one of the most important and most pristine mountain habitats in Greece. Its name means warm valley, and its landscape is defined by dense black pine and beech forests, rivers and wild ridgelines.

The hike starts from the Valia Calda Refuge, descends through the forest to the Aoos river and, after we cross the river, continues on a marked trail deep into the valley. We reach Arkoudorema, one of the most characteristic spots of Valia Calda: the route runs parallel to the stream through an impressive forest, with several water crossings and natural pools. A true plunge into the wild nature of Pindus, where important species of Greek fauna meet. The return to the refuge completes one of the most beautiful hiking experiences in the area.

Route details: 17 km, 7-8 hours, starting altitude 1,000 m, maximum 1,230 m, total elevation gain 800 m, moderate difficulty.

Included: accommodation in a tent, breakfast, snacks during the hike, refuge facilities (toilet and shower), yoga, two mountain guides, first aid kit, professional photographer, civil liability insurance, all legal taxes.
Not included: personal accident cover, meals.
