Honey, Sparkling Wine and Rakomelo – Private Experience in Pallini

Fine honey, plenty of bubbles and a traditional Greek drink. The experience is built around a systematic tasting of 5 different honey varieties, accompanied at every stage by sparkling wine and matching delicacies (food pairing).

We start with an introduction to honey production, the structure of bee society, the health benefits and the differences between blossom honey and honeydew honey. Next comes an introduction to the origin, varieties and production method of sparkling wine – a bottle of Greek sparkling, Italian sparkling or Champagne, depending on what the group prefers. For dessert, we prepare a traditional spiced rakomelo (honey raki) together.

Led by a professional honey sommelier and a wine and olive oil specialist. Offered only as private sessions on request, for at least 4 people, aged 18 and over. Preferred start time from 11:00.

Duration: about 2 hours. Price per person.

Where: at the From A to Bee apiary in Pallini (Elpidos Pouli 2), easy to reach by metro, bus or taxi from the centre of Athens.
