Tryfos gorge is about 40 minutes from Lefkada and less than 3 hours from Athens. Its waterfalls are fed by the Nissa river, which springs from the Akarnanika mountains and flows into the Ambracian Gulf. Lush vegetation, thermal springs and spectacular waterfalls make it one of the most special canyoning destinations in Greece.
The route starts with a 20-minute walk next to the river. Then come three rappels of 5 to 6 m with plenty of water and the option of a jump, followed by 8 consecutive waterfalls from 12 to 30 m that end in large turquoise pools. The adventure finishes at the last big pool with a natural water slide, 5 minutes from the cars.
