The beekeeping experience combined with a creative workshop. First you put on a beekeeping suit, light the smoker and explore a living hive with the From A to Bee beekeepers: how to find the queen, what we look for inside the hive, how a colony is inspected.
Then, in the workshop, you make a natural cosmetic product with your own hands – beeswax ointment, hand cream or lip balm – with fresh ingredients just collected from the hive. Alternatively, you prepare a traditional bee product such as pasteli (sesame and honey bar) or rakomelo (honey raki). You take the product you made home with you as a gift.
No previous experience is needed. Wear long trousers and closed shoes.
Duration: about 2 hours (60 minutes at the hive + 45-60 minutes workshop).
Where: at the From A to Bee apiary in Pallini (Elpidos Pouli 2), easy to reach by metro, bus or taxi from the centre of Athens.
